Yes! On Sundays, Mark meets students at their home or another convenient location. Due to tight scheduling, we are limited in the distance we can travel. Mainly, Mark can travel to Decatur, Midtown, Old Fourth Ward, and surrounding areas. We can also arrange an in-person meeting during the week, after school, at my building near Grant Park.
Many students benefit from meeting consistently at the same time every week or every other week. Others need flexibility to meet whenever they need specific help. Either way is fine with us, schedule permitting.
Kids have a lot going on, and we like to remain adaptable to fit into their busy schedules.
Yes, and here’s how: the rate for test prep is 50% more than the rate for “regular” math tutoring. So if you purchase a block of hours for regular math, and we do a test prep lesson, we deduct one and a half (1.5) hours from the “remaining hours” for that hour of test prep instead of one.
For instance, if you purchased a block of ten tutoring hours, and you’ve used three hours, you have seven hours remaining. If we then do an SAT prep hour, you then have five and a half remaining after that instead of six.
For regular math help, if the student’s teacher assigns homework, we usually use that. If the teacher does not assign homework, or it’s not adequate for full understanding, we can assign some. For SAT/ACT prep, our system works best when the student does the bulk of their work and studying between sessions, and we’ll assign homework with that goal in mind.
