I was born and raised in Billings, Montana. I joined the United States Navy in 1997, and after having completed nuclear power training in 1999, I was stationed aboard the USS Maine (SSBN-741), a ballistic missile submarine. I served in the Electrical Division on the Maine until the end of my enlistment four years later.

After my enlistment, I went to college and majored in Engineering. After completing the math classes for that path, I switched my major to English and earned my bachelor's degree, graduating with honors from Georgia State University. My training in rhetoric and composition, the concentration of my degree, gives me specific knowledge that is useful in tutoring. 

I started tutoring in 2015 by helping my friends' kids with their algebra homework, then moving into the upper-level subjects. I added SAT and ACT test prep tutoring a couple of years after that. I have helped hundreds of students in all levels of middle-school and high-school math, essays, and test prep.
